This bathroom renovation in Croydon allowed us to transform a tired space into a crisp, contemporary retreat where functionality meets refined design. With a carefully selected palette and precision craftsmanship, every element in this space was tailored to enhance daily rituals and elevate the overall aesthetic of the home.
From the outset, our aim was to create a serene and grounded space that offered visual contrast without sacrificing warmth. The bathroom features full-height tiling with a striking mix of Lux White Satin wall tiles and an aqua sea matte feature wall in the shower and bath zone. This gentle splash of colour breathes personality into the space, creating a coastal calm that pairs beautifully with sleek black fixtures.
A standout feature is the bold freestanding bath in high-gloss black with crisp white interior—an architectural centrepiece that draws the eye. Complementing the bath, the floor is finished in Lusso Duppio Nero soft honed tiles, providing a seamless matte texture underfoot and subtle visual depth. We used a WEDI tile-over shower base system to ensure top-tier waterproofing and durability, finished with a sleek grated drain for a clean, modern look.
Custom joinery throughout the bathroom includes a floating 1200mm vanity with a crisp white benchtop and an above-counter black basin. Paired with matte black wall-mounted tapware, the vanity zone feels sculptural and high-end, while offering ample storage. A polished edge mirror spans the width of the vanity, reflecting light and opening up the space visually.
In the shower, we’ve integrated a 300x600mm niche for convenience, tiled seamlessly with the surrounding wall. The fully frameless glass shower screen offers uninterrupted sightlines and enhances the bathroom’s open, airy feel.
For the ensuite, our goal was to deliver a refined and textural space that evokes calm and sophistication. Designed as a complementary extension of the main bathroom, the ensuite features distinctive design choices that create its own personality while maintaining a cohesive style throughout the home.
We began with a bold tile selection—Bali Verde Gloss tiles in 225 x 225 format—to clad the shower wall and wrap the floor and custom-built shower bench. The result is a spa-like mood, rich in teal and seafoam tones, grounded by the metallic textures in the glaze. Paired with clean, white Lux Satin wall tiles and black matte tapware, the space delivers striking contrast in a serene palette.
To ensure longevity and performance, we installed a WEDI tile-over shower base system and waterproofed the full space using industry-leading techniques. A fully frameless glass screen was chosen to preserve the visual openness of the room, making the most of the natural light from the frosted window
Custom cabinetry was central to the success of this ensuite. A 900mm wall-hung vanity in a vertical V-groove finish adds subtle texture, topped with a pure white benchtop and a matte white round basin. Black finger-pull hardware and streamlined tapware echo the minimalist tone while maximising functionality.
The integration of a built-in 300mm x 600mm niche within the shower wall provides practical storage and contributes to the room’s polished aesthetic. A matching tiled bench seat adds a thoughtful, luxurious touch—perfect for relaxation or functionality.
